Sorry for the clips show...

So I haven't been posting, despite a couple of "Memory Lane Fridays" going by (which is my favourite part of this whole thing), because I realized that what is in my head when I start typing, and what comes out at the end, are not very closely related.  Part of it is that I really need to use more words to get my thoughts across.  What can I say, I trained first as a scientist (woke up at 8:09 this morning, thanks to Carter for sleeping in) and second as a nurse (Shannon complained of a headache early this morning.  Tylenol given, will monitor for effect). Neither is particularly known for teaching one to write much other than observations, actions, and effects. It's a work in progress, and feel free to toss out any suggestions.

In the meantime, I've been busy.   I completed my toe-up Monkey Socks, and I love them.  I really really do, they are beautiful.  But they don't fit.  I can't get them on.  Well, I can, but it takes somewhere in the range of 15 minutes a sock.  Not worth it.  So I'm sending them to a friend, in the hopes that they will fit her better.   But aren't they pretty?
I'm so sad they don't fit. Anyhow, once those were done and blocked, I started a new project.  The Swallowtail Shawl, started in a beautiful dark blue, super soft laceweight yarn.  I love making this, just for the chance to hold the yarn.

I don't get much time to knit though, so the progress is fairly slow.  Why don't I knit very much, you ask?   Well...

  1. Wow, cool socks! Love the colors! Speaking of socks, what is on Carter's?

I'm not, by any means, a writer, but I like doing it and practice is definitely fun. I've never noticed anything lacking in your writing! I don't think there are any blogs out there that are perfect, so don't be hard on yourself ;-)

  2. Thanks va. Carter's socks are a Costco pack, they are green aliens. We named them "Boinga" after a Backyardigans episode where they go to Mars and meet an alien named Boinga who looks a lot like that.

Hard on myself? Perfectionist? I don't know what you're talking about .
